Experience tailored to you

Placements usually last around two weeks, with the possibility of an extension. Opportunities are tailored to your interests, existing skills and goals, and may include:

  • Office administration and organisational skills.
  • Support services.
  • Maintenance and practical handyman tasks.
  • CV development and preparation for future employment.

You will receive relevant training and hands-on experience. Hours are flexible and can be discussed to suit your circumstances. Some training can also be completed remotely through our in-house online training modules.

Remote learning applies to suitable training modules, rather than practical placement tasks. An extension or a particular placement is not guaranteed.

Who can apply?

Residents can speak to their support worker or complete our contact form to find out more.

We are working towards extending these opportunities to non-residents through Jobcentre Plus and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Referral arrangements are still being confirmed. If you do not live in an Aspect Housing property, speak to your Jobcentre work coach about your interest and ask them to check the current arrangements with Aspect before applying.

All placements are subject to an initial interview and risk assessment. The activities available will depend on suitability and availability.

Agree the details before you begin.

  • What the role involves and who your contact would be.
  • The location, time commitment and support available.
  • Any preparation, induction or checks the team confirms are needed.

Please wait for an agreed role and arrangements before attending a project as a volunteer.
